Esther H. Read was a faculty member of the College of Nursing, Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan for a number of years, and retired as an Associate Professor and Chairperson of Maternity and Pediatric Nursing circa 1969.
The papers of Ms. Read consist of several newspaper clippings which review the work of automotive enthusiast and historian, Hayden Shepley, in investigating the early days of the automobile in Essex County, Massachusetts.
