Mr. Simons' papers reflect his work in the secular and Jewish communities as well as his professional involvement as an entrepreneur. Mr. Simons maintained an active focus on his family life and his friendships. He was an avid traveler, which was reflected by his vast correspondence. He was a serious collector of rare books and was a supreme fund- raiser for worthy cause

Series I, Boxes 1-3, 1910-1993, describes Mr. Simons' personal life and contains correspondence, clippings, greeting cards, speeches and newsletters. As president of the Franklin Hills Country Club, tenure materials are shown. His vast interest in travel is depicted by his correspondence. Series II, Boxes 3 -4, 1929-1991, reflects Mr. Simons' professional activities and his interactions with organizations of a business nature. Papers contain clippings, correspondence, speeches, appraisals , telegrams and greeting cards. Items of interest are the Adcraft/Simons-Michelson Wayne University Professorship and the Simons-Michelson collection of Judaica. To Series II Box List

Series III, Boxes 4-7, 1930-1993, speaks to Mr. Simons active participation in activities of the secular community of the greater Detroit area. Papers contain clippings, correspondence, speeches, research materials, notes, newsletters, invitations, certificates, programs, greeting cards, telegrams. Series IV, Boxes 8-14, 1872-1993, contains documents depicting Mr. Simons’ involvement in the Jewish community and his activities on behalf of Jewish causes. The series contains clippings, correspondence, articles, notes, speeches, pamphlets, certificates, book plates and materials regarding Mr. Simons myriad efforts in fund-raising projects. Of special note is the Feuchtwanger (Lion and Marta) correspondence, Goldman Automobile company, Israeli Bond and Jewish National Fund and Fund Raising activities, Hebrew University, Man of the Year citation and Butzel Award.
