Index to Subjects and Correspondents

This index includes the names of people, organizations (mostly labor), and subjects deemed relevant at the time of processing. Entries of individuals preceded by an asterisk indicate that there exist records in those boxes and folders that are authored by the important historical figures that those entries represent. The titles of the correspondents refer to the 1955-1960 time period, although correspondents may have possessed these titles for earlier or later periods. All SEIU Vice Presidents are listed in this index; however, neither the names of the President nor of the Secretary-Treasurer are listed in this index as their names appear so frequently that to include them would not serve a useful purpose. The names of only selected SEIU representatives, organizers, and others are included in this index and only in instances when they ultimately became prominent SEIU officers or left SEIU to assume important positions elsewhere (e.g., Richard Cordtz and Tom Donahue). Abbreviations are used sparingly within the index. Examples include: AFL-CIO, UAW, and SEIU.
