Scope & Contents
The UAW Public Review Board was established in 1957 at the 16th UAW Constitutional Convention. The Public Review Board created a process to examine and act upon complaints of individual unionists concerning the conduct and ethics of the UAW. Although the Public Review Board is a product of and is financed by the UAW it operates independently of it. It consists of seven persons appointed by the President of the UAW and approved by the UAW International Executive Board and delegates to the Consitutional Convention. The PRB members commonly have distinquished academic, clerical, or judicial backgrounds.
