Scope & Contents
The papers of Minnie F. Corder were placed in the Archives of Labor and Urban Affairs in December of 1971 by Ms. Corder and were opened for research in April of 1982. Additional papers were placed in the Archives by Ms. Corder in December of 1985 and opened for research in November of 1990.
Ms. Corder, a member of the I.W.W. since 1919, was the author of an unpublished novel, You Will Never Go Hungry. Her papers include a copy of You Will Never Go Hungry, an autobiographical novel which tells of her life from her birth in Kiev, Russia until her retirement in 1960. Some of the major themes of the book are problems of the immigrant, the garment industry, unions, socialism, the Great Depression and migrant workers. Also in the collection is a brief essay by Ms. Corder entitled, "My Mother's Prayer."
