Alton Cobb served as president of AFSCME Local 26. He also served as secretary-treasurer of AFSCME's Detroit Council 77 during this time period. The trusteeship of Local 26 began during Cobb's tenure, and his papers largely reflect this conflict. His papers include executive board minutes; correspondence; and legal and financial papers centering on disputes over the trusteeship of Local 26 and Council 77.
