John Jurkanin served as financial secretary, business agent, and president of the Amalgamated Meat Cutters and Butcher Workmen of North America (AMC & BWNA) Local 500 and founded the AMC & BWNA Ohio State Branch. Mr. Jurkanin’s papers relate the activities of Local 500 and reflect Mr. Jurkanin’s involvement in civil rights, pacifist and reformist political movements.
