As a member of the National Maritime Union (NMU), James Morrissey worked to combat corruption within the union, initiating a series of lawsuits charging NMU administration with funds misappropriation and civil liberties violations. Mr. Morrissey's papers document the lawsuits brought against the NMU and reflect Mr. Morrissey's interest in resisting union corruption.
