An early member of United Auto Workers (UAW) Local 15, (Fleetwood Fisher Body Plant), Philip Porter served as a legislative representative for the UAW in Washington DC and Lansing, and as Assistant Director of the UAW Unemployment Compensation Department. Mr. Porter’s papers reflect his work with the UAW, particularly regarding issues of unemployment compensation.
