Dr. Parker, an 1883 graduate of the Medical College of the University of Michigan, began teaching Materia Medica and therapeutics at the Detroit College of Medicine in 1906, and continued until the 1930s. Dr. Parker served as surgeon to the Michigan Naval Brigade and assistant surgeon, U.S. Navy, during the Spanish-American War.
The collection includes a prescription book from the United States Army Medical Department, dated 1898. The prescriptions involve Camp Wilsoff located in Montauk, New York, home of the Cavalry Division Hospital.
